دَنفٍ فكن براً رَحيما
May my father be your ransom! You have taken the reins of one
wasted by lovesickness—so be kind and merciful.
لاno والذيby Him who جَعلَmade الهَوىlove
لا والذي جَعلَ الهَوى
لكَfor you فيin جَوارِحهِhis limbs مُقيماdwelling
لكَ في جَوارِحهِ مُقيما
No, by Him who made love
for you dwell within his limbs,
ماnot إنreinforcing the negation سَلاhe ceased to love وكفىand sufficient is بِطَرby your gaze (first part of a split word)
ما إن سَلا وكفى بِطَر
فِكَby your gaze (completion of the split word) بالذيof what يَلقىhe endures عليماwell aware
فِكَ بالذي يَلقى عليما
