مُستريحٌat ease مَنthe one who تَشكَّىcomplained فسلاand then found solace
وخليand carefree قلبُهُhis heart منthe one who عَذلاreproached
At ease is he who complained and then found solace.
Relaxed is he who complained of love,
And carefree is the heart of the one who reproached.
And emptied his heart of blame.
لاmay not بِمنupon the one whom أهواهُI love him ماwhat بيin me منof ضنىًwasting sickness
وبهِand in him وجديَmy yearning حتىuntil نصلاwe meet
May the wasting sickness I suffer not afflict the one I love.
Not with whom I loved is there stinginess in me,
And may he feel my yearning until we meet.
And with him my love till we meet.
فأرىthen I see الدمعَthe tears بهwith him مُشتغلاًpreoccupied
وأرىَand I see قلبيmy heart بهِfor him مشتَعلاًaflame
Then I see tears preoccupied with him,
So I see my tears preoccupied with him,
And I see my heart aflame for him.
And I see my heart aflame with him.
ويكونُand becomes الودlove شيئاًa thing واحداًone
أبداًforever تضربُyou hold up فيهconcerning it المثلاthe example
And love becomes one single thing,
And love becomes one thing
Forever—a love you hold up as an example.
Forever set as an example.
