I am grief-stricken, with a heart consumed by love.

I lay down, stricken by sickness, upon sickness.

And oh, the anguish that melts amid youthful dalliance,

From a malady arising anew each year.

I wept for you until not a tear remained.

So my eye is sorely ailing, and my eyelid bleeds.

Ah, may my father and mother ransom a haughty one,

    Stingy with greetings and salutations.
