A body without a heart or a liver—

How can that body be sound?

One whose eye weeps over him, for his sake,

And for its own unceasing sleeplessness.

O you who ask about me and my lovesickness,

This comes from sighs and inward sorrow.

What wrong has an eye done with its glance,

And my hand? May my hand no longer remain upon me!
