الخَلقُpeople تَحسدُنيenvy me عليهِfor him
الخَلقُ تَحسدُني عليهِ
أوor كيفَhow آمنهُمI trust them عليهِwith him
أو كيفَ آمنهُم عليهِ
People envy me for him.
The creation envies me for it
Or how can I trust them with him?
Or how can I entrust it to them
يَبدوhe appears فتفضَحُهمand betray them عُيوeyes (beginning of 'their eyes')
يَبدو فتفضَحُهم عُيو
نُهُمُtheir (completing 'their eyes') إذاwhen نَظرواthey look إليهِat him
نُهُمُ إذا نَظروا إليهِ
He appears, and their eyes betray them
It appears and exposes them
when they look at him.
When they look at it
كَمhow many منof أسيرٍa captive فيamong الأناhumankind (word beginning)
كَم من أسيرٍ في الأنا
مِcompletion of 'humankind' لمُقلتيهِto his two eyes ووَجنَتيهِand his two cheeks
مِ لمُقلتيهِ ووَجنَتيهِ
How many among humankind are captive
How many captives in the self
to his eyes and his cheeks!
To my wrists and cheeks
إنif كانَhe was أصبحَhe became فيin يديmy two hands (word beginning)
إن كانَ أصبحَ في يدي
يَcompletion of 'my two hands' فإنَّthen indeed قلبيmy heart فيin يَديهِhis two hands
يَ فإنَّ قلبي في يَديهِ
If he is now in my hands,
If it has come into my hand
then my heart is in his hands.
