O precious one whom eyes have not cheapened,

For he is shielded from the eyes of humankind.

One sick at heart, wasted in body, loves

you—if you turn away, what will become of him?

O languor, gathered through a languid gaze

by the eyelids from the glance of his eyes!

There is nothing after burning thirst, longing, and

passion and prolonged sickness but death.
