ترددyou waver فيon خديmy cheek كأنكَas though you راجِعُreturning
تردد في خدي كأنكَ راجِعُ
O tears of my eye, what are you doing?
O my tears, what is it that you are doing
You waver on my cheek as though you were turning back.
Wandering on my cheeks as if you were coming back

ألا هل لِمن أعديتَ عندَكَ شافِعُ
And O sickness of my body, say to an eye you have imitated:
And O my body's illness, say to the one whose story you told
Ah, is there an intercessor with you for the one you have infected?
Is there for the one you wronged a reconciler with you

And O flower of the world and splendor of its beauty,
And O flower of the world and joy of its beauty
And you, from whom I am content with hopes alone,
And who am I to be satisfied with it through wishes

بسلواكof forgetting you فأفهمso understand ماwhat تقولsay المدامِعُthe tear ducts (weeping eyes)
بسلواك فأفهم ما تقول المدامِعُ
It pains my eyes that weeping should speak
It is hard on my eyes when crying speaks
Of forgetting you; so understand what the weeping eyes say.
Of your absence, so I understand what falling tears say
