Abbas will never cease his reckless plunging

Until Abbas tastes the dire consequences of aggression.

I refrained from shooting at him for a year, though his vulnerable spot

Was exposed, so that people might excuse me for fighting him.

Deliberately I trail my robe before him, to beguile him

Away from his purpose, though my hope in him is despair.

So now that his true nature has revealed itself

In wrongdoing, there is no harm in my reviling my reviler.

One day I shall cut down every instigator with my words,

As the axe cuts in the butcher's hand.

Sulaym refuses, when it counts its noble deeds,

To let Abbas and Mirdas take first place.

Abu Amir—Abbas—has met his ruin, acknowledging

That, when Sulaym takes stock, we are its head.
