لَعَمريBy my life لَقَدindeed أَعطَيتَyou have given ضَيفَكَyour guest فارِضاًan aged she-camel
لَعَمري لَقَد أَعطَيتَ ضَيفَكَ فارِضاً
تُساقُshe is driven إِلَيهِto him ماnot تَقومُshe stands عَلىon رِجلِa leg
تُساقُ إِلَيهِ ما تَقومُ عَلى رِجلِ
By my life, you have indeed given your guest an aged she-camel,
By my life, indeed you have given your guest seeking
Driven to him, though she cannot stand on even one leg.
Brought to him is whatever can stand on a leg
