كَنَواحِlike the edges of ريشِfeathers حَمامَةٍa dove نَجدِيَّةٍfrom Najd
كَنَواحِ ريشِ حَمامَةٍ نَجدِيَّةٍ
وَمَسَحتُand I rubbed بِاللَثَتَينِonto both gums عَصفَpowder of الأَثمَدِthe antimony
وَمَسَحتُ بِاللَثَتَينِ عَصفَ الأَثمَدِ
Like the edges of a Najdi dove’s feathers,
Like the rustle of a Najdi dove's feathers
And I rubbed antimony powder onto both gums.
