وأعبدُ أن أسبهُمُ بقومي

وأعبدُ أن أسبهُمُ بقومي

وأتركَ دارمَا وبني رياحِ

وأتركَ دارمَا وبني رياحِ

And I disdain to revile them by invoking my people,

I wish I could blame them along with my people,

and leave Darim and the sons of Riyah alone.

And leave my home and kin to the winds,

أولئك إنْ سَبَبتُ كِفاءَ قومي

أولئك إنْ سَبَبتُ كِفاءَ قومي

وأجدَرُ أن أعاقبَ بالنجاحِ

وأجدَرُ أن أعاقبَ بالنجاحِ

Those, if I revile them, are my people’s equals,

If I were to blame, I'd be as worthy as my people,

and I am likelier to be rewarded with success.

And more deserving to be punished for succeeding.
