كَأَنَّهُas though he were فِيin أَوَاخِرِthe back of المَجْلِسْthe gathering
كَأَنَّهُ فِي أَوَاخِرِ المَجْلِسْ
You see him in the seat of honor, but owing to his baseness,
You see him, because of his baseness
He seems to be at the back of the gathering.
As if at the end of the gathering -
لاnot يَفْهَمُhe understands القَوْلَspeech فِيin الخِطَابِconversation وَلاَnor
لا يَفْهَمُ القَوْلَ فِي الخِطَابِ وَلاَ

يُفْهِمُهُ فَهْوَ أَبْكَمُ أَخْرَسْ
He does not understand speech in conversation, nor
He understands not the words of address,
Make it understood; he is mute and speechless.
Nor makes them understood - he is mute, deaf.

He rules in Egypt and Syria, though
He rules Egypt and Syria though he
He often used to keep guard with one like himself.
Often used to stand guard over the likes of them.
