مُلَمْلَمِيْنَtwo rounded forms فوقَabove جُرُفٍa bank هارِcrumbling
مُلَمْلَمِيْنَ فوقَ جُرُفٍ هارِ
قدalready نُحِتَاthe two were carved شِبْهَيِنِtwo alike فيin نَجَارِsubstance
قد نُحِتَا شِبْهَيِنِ في نَجَارِ
Two rounded forms above a crumbling bank,
Two crests above raging seas
Have been carved alike in substance.
Carved alike by a sculptor
داراthe two revolved كمثلِjust like الفَلَكِthe celestial sphere الدّوّارِthe ever-turning
دارا كمثلِ الفَلَكِ الدّوّارِ
وأسْيَلاand the two made flow ذَيْلاًa train منof الغُبَارِthe dust
وأسْيَلا ذَيْلاً من الغُبَارِ
They revolved like the turning celestial sphere,
A house like a spinning celestial sphere
And sent a train of dust streaming.
Trailing a tail of dust
فَنَحْنُso we منfrom رِفْدِهِمَاthe pair’s bounty المِدْرَارِabundantly flowing
فَنَحْنُ من رِفْدِهِمَا المِدْرَارِ
فيin نَعَمٍblessings صافِيَةِpure الأقْطارِthe sides
في نَعَمٍ صافِيَةِ الأقْطارِ
So we, through their abundant bounty,
We are of their plentiful stream
Enjoy blessings, unclouded on every side.
