ململماتٌ من كُراتِ التِّبْرِ
مُعْتَنِقَاتٌembracing لِدَقِيْقto one slender of الخَصْرِwaist
مُعْتَنِقَاتٌ لِدَقِيْق الخَصْرِ
Rounded forms made from balls of raw gold,
Like pearls gathered from golden sands,
Embracing a slender-waisted one,
Slender waists in our hands,
بنكهةِwith the fragrance of العطْرِperfume وفوقand above العِطْرِperfume
بنكهةِ العطْرِ وفوق العِطْرِ
أجودُfiner منthan نَشْقِinhaling سُلاَفِthe choicest portion of الخَمْرِwine
أجودُ من نَشْقِ سُلاَفِ الخَمْرِ
With perfume’s fragrance, and surpassing perfume,
With scent so sweet, perfume can’t compete,
Finer than inhaling the choicest wine,
Finer than wine we freely meet,
مشتملاتٌwrapped بثيابْin garments صُفْرِyellow
مشتملاتٌ بثيابْ صُفْرِ
تزورُناthey visit us فيin العَصْرthe afternoon بَعْدَafter العَصْرِthe pressing
تزورُنا في العَصْر بَعْدَ العَصْرِ
Wrapped in yellow garments,
In yellow robes they come to greet,
They visit us in the afternoon, after the pressing.
Visiting every afternoon and eve.
