Rise! The light of radiant morning has come.

O friend, let us enjoy the breeze and set out early.

نَلْمِمْ بِتِيْنٍ لَذَّ طَعْمَاً وَاكْتَسَى

نَلْمِمْ بِتِيْنٍ لَذَّ طَعْمَاً وَاكْتَسَى

حُسْنَاً وَقَارَبَ مَنْظَرَاً مِنْ مَخْبَرِ

حُسْنَاً وَقَارَبَ مَنْظَرَاً مِنْ مَخْبَرِ

Let us partake of figs, delicious in taste and clothed

Partake of luscious figs, whose taste is sweet,

in beauty, their appearance nearly matching their inner quality.

Whose beauty rivals fabrics fine and rare.

كَالثَّلْجِ بَرْدَاً فِي صَفَاءِ التَّبْرِ فِي

كَالثَّلْجِ بَرْدَاً فِي صَفَاءِ التَّبْرِ فِي

رِيْحِ العَبِيْرِ وَفَوْقَ طَعْمِ السُّكَّرِ

رِيْحِ العَبِيْرِ وَفَوْقَ طَعْمِ السُّكَّرِ

Cold as snow, with gold's purity, with

Like snow, so cold beneath a cloudless sky,

the fragrance of perfume, and surpassing sugar in taste.

Mid fragrant breeze and over sugar's taste.

لَطُفَتْ مَعَانِيْهِ لَطَافَةَ عَاشِقٍ

لَطُفَتْ مَعَانِيْهِ لَطَافَةَ عَاشِقٍ

فِي لَوْنِ مُشَتَاقٍ حَلِيْفِ تَفَكُّرِ

فِي لَوْنِ مُشَتَاقٍ حَلِيْفِ تَفَكُّرِ

Their qualities are as delicate as a lover's,

Its meaning is as gentle as a lover

with the hue of one who yearns, a companion to reflection.

Lost in thought, whose face longing has graced.

يَحْكِي إِذَ مَا صُفَّ فِي أَطْبَاقِهِ

يَحْكِي إِذَ مَا صُفَّ فِي أَطْبَاقِهِ

خَيَمَاً ضُرِبْنَ مِنَ الحَرِيْرِ الأَصْفَرِ

خَيَمَاً ضُرِبْنَ مِنَ الحَرِيْرِ الأَصْفَرِ

When arranged on their platters, they resemble

It tells, when layered on its serving dish,

tents pitched from yellow silk.

Of tents of yellow silk stretched overhead.
