O Rāḥ, rise and revive us with wine.

Do you not see the first signs of dawn,

Like black steeds already collared with silver ornaments?

So pass us the companion of souls,

And make the goblets laugh with the drinking cups,

Revealing gold with the aroma of apples.

Then he rose, swaying with merriment,

    Joyful, his smile revealing daisies,

    Between the wanton, shameless youth

    And the round-calved, ample-hipped maiden,

And the satisfier of testicles and vulvas.

What a draught, lawful for him!

There is no sin upon us in it.
