وجاءَ المصيفُ بلُفّاحِهِ

فطابَ وأوقاتُه لم تَطِبْ

And summer came with its mandrake fruit,

So it grew pleasant, though its days were not.

نجومٌ بلا فَلَكٍ دائِرٍ

ولكنَّ أوراقَه من ذَهَبْ

ولكنَّ أوراقَه من ذَهَبْ

Stars without a revolving celestial sphere,

Yet its leaves are of gold.

روائِحها من نشا مِسْكِهِ

روائِحها من نشا مِسْكِهِ

وأجسامُها أكَرٌ من ذهب

وأجسامُها أكَرٌ من ذهب

Their scents come from the fragrance of its musk,

And their bodies are spheres of gold.
