Sol 6.1

  1. قَدْ وَفَيْنَا لَكَ بِالْوَعْ

    دِ وَكَانَ الوَعْدُ دَيْنَا

    We have indeed kept our promise to you,

    and the promise was a debt.

  2. وَحَكَمْنَا لَكَ بِالإِيْ

    ثَارِ بِالْحَظِّ عَلَيْنَا

    And we have ruled to give you preference

    over ourselves in the share,

  3. بِبَدِيْعٍ مَا رَأَيْنَا

    مِثْلَهُ فِيْمَا رَأَيِنَا

    With a marvel—we have not seen

    its like among all we have seen.

  4. فِيْهِ لِلْحُسْنِ مِيَاهٌ

    لَوْ تَصَوَّبْنَ جَرَيْنَا

    Within it, beauty has waters:

    if they poured downward, they would flow.

  5. فَهْوَ لَوْ يَكْرَعُ ذَوْدٌ

    فِيْهِ يَوْمَاً لاَرْتَوَيْنَا

    For were a small herd of camels to drink

    from it one day, they would be quenched.

  6. أَوْ جَرَى لاَنْبَجَسَتْ مِنْ

    هُ اثْنَتَا عَشْرَةَ عَيْنَا

    Or were it to flow, there would gush from

    it twelve springs.

  7. زِيْنَةٌ تُهْدَى إِلَى كَفْ

    فِ فَتًى زَادَتْهُ زَيْنَا

    An ornament offered into the hand

    of a youth whose beauty it enhanced.
