وَإِذَاand if افْتَخَرْتَyou boast بِأَعْظُمٍof bones مَقْبُورَةٍburied
وَإِذَا افْتَخَرْتَ بِأَعْظُمٍ مَقْبُورَةٍ
فَالنًّاسُthen people بَيْنَbetween مُكَذِّبٍone who denies وَمُصَدِّقِand one who believes
فَالنًّاسُ بَيْنَ مُكَذِّبٍ وَمُصَدِّقِ
And if you boast of buried bones,
When you boast of the greatest buried glory,
Then people are divided between those who deny and those who believe.
People waver between calling you a liar or truthful.
فَأَقِمْso establish لِنَفْسِكَfor yourself فِيin انْتِسَابِكَyour claim of descent شَاهِدَاًa witness
فَأَقِمْ لِنَفْسِكَ فِي انْتِسَابِكَ شَاهِدَاً
بِحَدِيْثِthrough new مَجْدٍglory لِلْقَدِيْمِfor the old مُحَقِّقِconfirming
بِحَدِيْثِ مَجْدٍ لِلْقَدِيْمِ مُحَقِّقِ
So establish for yourself, in claiming descent, a witness,
So establish for yourself in your lineage a witness
Through new glory that confirms the old.
With talk of glory verifying the ancient.
