وَمَاand not زِلْتُI have ceased أَبْغِيI seek العِلْمَknowledge مِنْfrom حَيْثُwhere يُبْتَغَىit is sought
وَأَفْتَنُّand I range widely فِيthrough أَصْنَافِهِits branches وَتَطَرُّفِهْand its rarities
And I have never ceased seeking knowledge wherever it is sought,
I still seek knowledge wherever it is found
And I range through its branches and rarities.
And revel in its branches and extremes.
فَقَدْso indeed صِرْتُI have come to لاnot أَلْقَىI encounter الَّذِيthe one whom اسْتَزِيْدُهُI ask for more
وَلاَand not يُذْكَرُis mentioned الشَّيءُthe thing الَّذِيthat لَسْتُI am not أَعْرِفُهْI know it
So now I find no one from whom I can learn more,
I have now reached where nothing I request
And nothing is mentioned that I do not know.
Remains of things not known that I may glean.
