لا تَمَلاَّ البُكَا ولا تَسْتَرِيْحَا
Aid me, O my two eyes, and lament;
My tearful eyes brought me joy and sorrow,
do not tire of weeping, nor take your rest.
Do not cease weeping or find respite,

Indeed, death has driven Shaqra
For the fair one's demise has caused distress,
from palaces and housed her in a tomb.
Taking her from palaces and laying her in a tomb.
فَسَقَىso may He water اللَّهُGod ذلكthat الجِسْمِthe body جِسْماًa body
فَسَقَى اللَّهُ ذلك الجِسْمِ جِسْماً
وَتَلَقّىand may He receive بالرَّوْحِwith solace تِلْكَthat الرُّوحَاthe soul
وَتَلَقّى بالرَّوْحِ تِلْكَ الرُّوحَا
So may God water that body—“a body” [wording unclear]—
May God water that body with a body,
and receive that soul with solace.
And may that soul receive that soul.

حِيْنَ يَهْدِي إليَّ وَجْهَا مَلِيْحَا
Were I the dust, I would not cause decay
If I were dust I would not waste away,
when a lovely face was offered to me.
When a beautiful face is turned towards me.
