واقِفَةٌ بِلا تَعَبْ
تَشْكُوshe complains مِنَfrom الصَّبِّthe lovesick lover لَهَبْa flame
تَشْكُو مِنَ الصَّبِّ لَهَبْ
Standing without weariness,
Standing without fatigue
she complains of the lovesick lover's flame.
Complaining of passion's flame
كَأَنَّهاas though she فِيin حُسْنِهاher beauty
كَأَنَّها فِي حُسْنِها
وَقَدْand indeed أَتَيْنَthey (feminine) have come بِالْعَجَبْwith a marvel
وَقَدْ أَتَيْنَ بِالْعَجَبْ
As though she, in her beauty—
As if in her beauty
and they have brought a marvel—
We were filled with wonder
فَوّارَةٌa fountain مِنof فِضَّةٍsilver
فَوّارَةٌ مِن فِضَّةٍ
تَمُجُّshe spouts ماءًwater مِنْof ذَهَبْgold
تَمُجُّ ماءً مِنْ ذَهَبْ
were a fountain of silver,
A fountain of silver
spouting water of gold.
