إِيَّاكُمُbeware, all of you أنْlest يَظْلمُواthey commit injustice أوor تُنَاصِرُاyou lend support
إِيَّاكُمُ أنْ يَظْلمُوا أو تُنَاصِرُا
علىto الظُّلمِinjustice إنَّindeed الظُّلمَinjustice يُردِيbrings ruin ويُهلِكُand destroys
على الظُّلمِ إنَّ الظُّلمَ يُردِي ويُهلِكُ
Beware lest they commit injustice, or you lend support
Beware lest they do wrong or you assist
to injustice; indeed, injustice brings ruin and destruction.
The wrong, for wrong will ruin and destroy
لَوَىbrought ruin بِبَنِيupon the sons of عَبْسٍʿAbs وأَحْيَاءِand the clans of وَائِلٍWāʾil
لَوَى بِبَنِي عَبْسٍ وأَحْيَاءِ وَائِلٍ
وكَمْand how much مِنْof دَمٍblood بالظُّلْمِthrough injustice أصْبَحَcame to be يُسْفَكُis shed
وكَمْ مِنْ دَمٍ بالظُّلْمِ أصْبَحَ يُسْفَكُ
It brought ruin upon the sons of ʿAbs and the clans of Wāʾil.
It brought destruction on the clans of Abs and Wa'il
And how much blood has come to be shed through injustice!
And how much blood through wrong is made to flow
