No, we do not count time that has come to disown us,

Nor do we greet the years that come.

As long as the home hopes for its owner's return,

There is no time for us while its people are away.

Since the day of our catastrophe, no joy has returned,

And the home is empty; the raven of separation dwells in it.

It shows tenderness toward its people, and longing devours it,

And the fire burns it deliberately, along with all that is inside it.

Right endures longer, even when time passes in vain,

And on the day of justice, the bow's owner is its maker.

No age has ever held sway over a homeland,

And God is above them both in judgment and guidance.

If the home dies from injustice, we shall die with it,

And God is mightier: He revives us and revives it.
