ياO بَيْتBayt (in Bayt Jann) جَنّJann (in Bayt Jann) الَّتِيwhich فيin جَرْمَقِJarmaq القِمَمِthe peaks
يا بَيْت جَنّ الَّتِي في جَرْمَقِ القِمَمِ
زِيدِيincrease شُموخًاin loftiness بِنَفَّاعthrough Naffa‘ العُلَىlofty deeds العَلَمِthe luminary
زِيدِي شُموخًا بِنَفَّاع العُلَى العَلَمِ
O Bayt Jann, amid Jarmaq’s peaks,
rise higher still with Naffa‘, that luminary of lofty deeds.
قَدْindeed ناصَرَchampioned الحَقَّjustice شَعْبًاa people عاشَlived through نَكْبَتََهُits Nakba
قَدْ ناصَرَ الحَقَّ شَعْبًا عاشَ نَكْبَتََهُ
وقاوَمَand resisted الظُّلْمَoppression أَيًّاwhatever كانَit was فيamong الأُمَمِthe nations
وقاوَمَ الظُّلْمَ أَيًّا كانَ في الأُمَمِ
He indeed championed justice for a people who lived through their Nakba,
and resisted oppression, whatever its form among the nations.
تَكْفيهِis enough for him مَعْرَكَةُthe battle الزّابودِal-Zabud شَاهِدَةًas a witness
تَكْفيهِ مَعْرَكَةُ الزّابودِ شَاهِدَةً
عَلَىto أَيادِيهِhis good deeds بَيْنَbetween الأَرْضِthe land والقَلَمِand the pen !
عَلَى أَيادِيهِ بَيْنَ الأَرْضِ والقَلَمِ !
The battle of al-Zabud is witness enough for him
to his good deeds between the land and the pen!
