Indeed, I saw you among the women, and you displeased me;
I saw you among the women, so you vexed me
and I saw your sons' father, who displeased me in the gathering.
And your refusal, my son, pained me in the assembly

Truly abased is he whose riding camels visit
The humiliated are those whose abodes you visit
Ibn Jahsh's clan in the cramped place of confinement.
The clan of Ibn Jachsh confined in prison

They cannot endure while their women

Still complain of disgrace to the feeble enemy

The clan of Ibn Jachsh in misfortunes are subdued
Their clothes are grease-stained; their spear-shaft has not been notched
Their clothes reek yet their noses remain upturned

May God disgrace a tribe that did not defend
Cursed by God is the tribe who did not prevent
their neighbor against Faqʿas on the day of al-Mujaymir.
On the day of Mujaimir their neighbor from weakness

They left the women with the steeds for a people
untamed in enmity amid raging wars.

Who yields the despised one defiantly when he desires her
