O ʿAbd, son of Yarbūʿ, son of Ḍarṭ, son of Māzin,
Eat all you can, and bellow with your throat-sacs.

Stay with the goats at your father's dwelling,
As they sniff the north wind—some watered at dawn, others roaming free.

Nor was Yarbūʿ, your father, when he raced
Toward glory, one with speed to spare or a contender.
