وَلَستُ أَرى السَعادَةَ جَمعَ مالٍ

وَلَستُ أَرى السَعادَةَ جَمعَ مالٍ

وَلَكِنَّ التَقيَّ هُوَ السَعيدُ

وَلَكِنَّ التَقيَّ هُوَ السَعيدُ

And I do not see happiness as the amassing of wealth;

I do not see happiness in amassing wealth,

But the God-fearing one is the happy one.

But the devout are the fortunate ones.

وَتَقوى اللَهِ خَيرُ الزادِ ذُخراً

وَتَقوى اللَهِ خَيرُ الزادِ ذُخراً

وَعِندَ اللَهِ لِلأَتقى مَزيدُ

وَعِندَ اللَهِ لِلأَتقى مَزيدُ

And fear of God is the best provision to lay in store;

Piety towards God is the best provision to hoard,

And with God there is more for the most God-fearing.

And with God there is more in store for the devout.

وَما لا بُدَّ أَن يَأَتي قَريبٌ

وَما لا بُدَّ أَن يَأَتي قَريبٌ

وَلَكِنَّ الَّذي يَمضي بَعيدُ

وَلَكِنَّ الَّذي يَمضي بَعيدُ

And what is bound to come is near;

What is bound to come will come soon enough,

But what has passed is far away.

But what has passed is gone for good.
