وَقاتَلتَ الغَداةَ قِتالَ صِدقٍ

وَقاتَلتَ الغَداةَ قِتالَ صِدقٍ

فَلا شَلَّت يَداكَ أَبا الرَبابِ

فَلا شَلَّت يَداكَ أَبا الرَبابِ

And that morning you fought a true fight;

You fought in the morning with true sincerity

so may your hands never be paralyzed, Abu al-Rabab!

So your hands did not weaken, O Abu Al-Rabab

أَباحَ قِتالُ خارِجَةَ اِبنِ حِصنٍ

أَباحَ قِتالُ خارِجَةَ اِبنِ حِصنٍ

لِأَهلِ الحَزنِ مُنقَطَعَ السَحابِ

لِأَهلِ الحَزنِ مُنقَطَعَ السَحابِ

Kharijah ibn Hisn's fighting laid open

The fighting of Kharijah ibn Hisn made lawful

to the people of al-Hazn the farthest reaches of the clouds.

For the grieving people the severed clouds

تَرَكتَ الحَيَّ مِن عَمروٍ فُلولاً

تَرَكتَ الحَيَّ مِن عَمروٍ فُلولاً

وَحَرباً قَد أَنَختَ عَلى الرَبابِ

وَحَرباً قَد أَنَختَ عَلى الرَبابِ

You left the clan of Amr in shattered remnants,

You left the living from Amr remnants

and you have made war kneel upon al-Rabab.

And war that bowed upon Al-Rabab
