تُلاقيyou encounter فيin الوَلاءِallegiance عَلَيكَagainst you سَعداًSa'd
تُلاقي في الوَلاءِ عَلَيكَ سَعداً
ثِقالَweighty الوَزنِweight طالِعَةَrising to confront الخُصومِthe adversaries
ثِقالَ الوَزنِ طالِعَةَ الخُصومِ
You encounter Sa'd allied against you,
In loyalty to you I find joy
Weighty in stature, rising to confront their adversaries.
Though faced with burdensome adversity
وَأَبناءُand the sons الضَرائِرِthe co-wives جَدَّعوكُمthey have mutilated you
وَأَبناءُ الضَرائِرِ جَدَّعوكُم
وَأَنتُمwhile you فَرخُthe chick of واحِدَةٍone woman عَقيمِbarren
وَأَنتُم فَرخُ واحِدَةٍ عَقيمِ
And the sons of co-wives have mutilated you,
And sons of fate deceive you
While you are the chick of one barren woman.
While you are an infertile hen’s chicks
