مَن ذا نُحَمِّلُ حاجَةً نَزَلَت بِنا
بَعدَafter الأَغَرِّthe illustrious سَوادَةَSawadah بنِson of كِلابِKilab
بَعدَ الأَغَرِّ سَوادَةَ بنِ كِلابِ
Whom shall we entrust with a need that has befallen us
Who can we blame for this misfortune that has befallen us,
After the illustrious Sawadah ibn Kilab?
After the noble chief Sāwādah, son of Kilāb,
زَينُthe adornment المَجالِسِassemblies وَالفَوارِسِand horsemen وَالَّذيand the one who
زَينُ المَجالِسِ وَالفَوارِسِ وَالَّذي
بُنِيَتwere built عَلَيهِupon him مَكارِمُhonors الأَحسابِlineages
بُنِيَت عَلَيهِ مَكارِمُ الأَحسابِ
The adornment of assemblies and horsemen, and the one
The grace of councils and horsemen, upon whom
Upon whom the honors of lineage were built.
The virtues of nobility were established.
