ياO أَهلَpeople of جُزرَةَJuzrah لاno حِلمٌgood sense فَيَنفَعُكُمso it benefits you
يا أَهلَ جُزرَةَ لا حِلمٌ فَيَنفَعُكُم
أَوor تَنتَهُنَyou must desist فَيُنجيand so saves الخائِفَthe fearful one الحَذَرُcaution
أَو تَنتَهُنَ فَيُنجي الخائِفَ الحَذَرُ
O people of Juzrah, you have no good sense to help you;
O people of Jazirat, neither patience benefits you
or you must desist, so caution may save the fearful.
Nor does refraining, so the cautious one is rescued by fear
ياO أَهلَpeople of جُزرَةَJuzrah إِنّيindeed I قَدalready نَصَبتُI have made ready لَكُمfor you
يا أَهلَ جُزرَةَ إِنّي قَد نَصَبتُ لَكُم
بِالمَنجَنيقِwith the catapult وَلَمّاand not yet يُرسَلِis launched الحَجَرُthe stone
بِالمَنجَنيقِ وَلَمّا يُرسَلِ الحَجَرُ
O people of Juzrah, I have made ready for you
O people of Jazirat, I have set up for you
with the catapult, though the stone has not yet been launched.
