إِذاwhen شاعَspreads السَلامُpeace بِدارِin the dwelling of قَومٍa people
إِذا شاعَ السَلامُ بِدارِ قَومٍ
فَلَيسَthen there is no عَلىupon عَزَولاةَʿAzawlāh السَلامُpeace
فَلَيسَ عَلى عَزَولاةَ السَلامُ
When peace spreads through a people's dwelling,
then no peace be upon ʿAzawlāh.
مُنَيزِلَةٌa little dwelling تَبَرّىhas dissociated Himself اللَهُGod مِنهاfrom it
مُنَيزِلَةٌ تَبَرّى اللَهُ مِنها
بِهاin it مِنfrom مازِنٍMāzin نَفَرٌa band of men لِئامُvile
بِها مِن مازِنٍ نَفَرٌ لِئامُ
A little dwelling that God has disowned,
where a band of vile men from Māzin dwells.
