أَدارَO abode of الجَميعِthe company الصالِحينَthe righteous أَبينيspeak clearly
أَدارَ الجَميعِ الصالِحينَ أَبيني
وَعَهديand my last meeting بِسَلمىwith Salma قَبلَbefore ذاكَthat بِحينِby some time
وَعَهدي بِسَلمى قَبلَ ذاكَ بِحينِ
O abode of the righteous company, speak clearly!
My friend, show me the way
And my last meeting with Salma was some time before that.
فَإِنّيfor indeed I لَذوsurely possessed of حِلمٍforbearance وَإِنّيand indeed I لَلَيِّنٌsurely gentle
فَإِنّي لَذو حِلمٍ وَإِنّي لَلَيِّنٌ
وَإِنّيand indeed I لَأَحميsurely I protect بِالشَكاسَةِwith harshness لينيmy gentleness
وَإِنّي لَأَحمي بِالشَكاسَةِ ليني
For I am indeed forbearing, and I am indeed gentle;
