Is it love's madness, or the bird of parting, that has wasted me,
at Jumd al-Safa, with its cawing and its hopping?

An aged beast can be gelded after its fang has erupted.

wearing a hobby-horse's two sashes and its bells.

they have raced ahead, as the sword outruns its reproacher's words.
