أَبَنيO sons of أُسَيدَةَUsayda قَدindeed وَجَدتُI have found لِمازِنٍfor Mazin
أَبَني أُسَيدَةَ قَد وَجَدتُ لِمازِنٍ
قِدَماًancient standing وَلَيسَand there is no لَكُمfor you قَديمٌancient standing يُعلَمُknown
قِدَماً وَلَيسَ لَكُم قَديمٌ يُعلَمُ
O sons of Usayda, I have found for Mazin
O sons of Usaydah, I have found that the tribe of Mazin
Ancient standing, while no such standing is known for you.
Has gained a footing while you have no ancient renown.
فَدَعواso abandon التَكَرُّمَclaiming nobility وَالفَخارَand boasting بِمازِنٍthrough Mazin
فَدَعوا التَكَرُّمَ وَالفَخارَ بِمازِنٍ
إِنَّindeed اللَئيمَa base man بِغَيرِهِthrough another لاnot يُكرَمُis honored
إِنَّ اللَئيمَ بِغَيرِهِ لا يُكرَمُ
So abandon claims to nobility and boasting through Mazin:
So cease to boast of honor through Mazin’s name -
Indeed, a base man is not honored through another.
The base man in another tribe gains no renown.
