لجنان تبيح كل مراد

They seek, if they cross it, to reach

They seek access if they cross it

Gardens that grant every desire:

To gardens that allow every desire

من ثمار تجني ولحم طري

من ثمار تجني ولحم طري

وشراب من سلسبيل براد

وشراب من سلسبيل براد

Of fruit you gather and tender meat,

Of fruits to reap and succulent meat

And a cooling drink from Salsabil,

And a drink from a cool flowing spring

وجوار حور كواعب أبكا

وجوار حور كواعب أبكا

ر وولد يزهون كالأولاد

ر وولد يزهون كالأولاد

And fair-eyed, full-breasted maidens, vir—

And the company of lovely maidens

—gins, and youths resplendent like children.

Smiling like children at play

تحتها أنهار على الأرض تجري

تحتها أنهار على الأرض تجري

عسلاً قد صفوه للزهاد

عسلاً قد صفوه للزهاد

Beneath them, rivers flow upon the earth,

Underneath are rivers across the land flowing

With honey they have purified for the ascetics.

Honey purified for the devout

إن فيها عيشاً يدوم رخيا

إن فيها عيشاً يدوم رخيا

وسلاماً من الصروف العوادي

وسلاماً من الصروف العوادي

Indeed, within them is a life of lasting ease,

Indeed in it is lasting, plentiful life

And safety from ravaging turns of fortune.

And peace from life's misfortunes

إن فيها لهواً وكأساً دهاقا

إن فيها لهواً وكأساً دهاقا

كل يوم سرورها في ازدياد

كل يوم سرورها في ازدياد

Indeed, within them are diversion and a brimming cup;

Indeed in it is amusement and a flowing cup

Every day, their joy increases.

Its joys increase day after day

إن فيها تيناً ونخلاً وما

إن فيها تيناً ونخلاً وما

نا وأعناباً لذة للعباد

نا وأعناباً لذة للعباد

Indeed, within them are figs, date palms, and mā—

Indeed in it are figs, palms and fruits

—nā [possibly manna], and grapes, a delight for the servants.

And grapes, a delight for the worshipers

إن فيها أساوراً تتراءى

إن فيها أساوراً تتراءى

وهي من فضة على الأزناد

وهي من فضة على الأزناد

Indeed, within them, bracelets come into view,

Indeed in it are bangles that shimmer

And they are of silver, upon the wrists.

Of silver upon porcelain arms

إن للمتقين فيها مفازا

إن للمتقين فيها مفازا

ونعيماً ما إن له من نفاد

ونعيماً ما إن له من نفاد

Indeed, there is triumph there for the God-fearing,

Indeed for the righteous is salvation

And bliss that never comes to an end—

And never-ending bounty

للمصلين المؤمنين برب

للمصلين المؤمنين برب

هو للكافرين بالمرصاد

هو للكافرين بالمرصاد

For those who pray and believe in a Lord

For those who pray and believe in their Lord

Who lies in wait for the unbelievers;

While for unbelievers waits doom

ولمن صام الشهر من رمضان

ولمن صام الشهر من رمضان

فهو غرثان في النهار وصادي

فهو غرثان في النهار وصادي

And for whoever fasts the month of Ramadan,

And for those who fast the month of Ramadan

So he is hungry by day, and thirsty;

Quenched by day, fulfilled by night

ولمن جاء يبتغي حج بيت اللَه

ولمن جاء يبتغي حج بيت اللَه

والأجر من بعيد البلاد

والأجر من بعيد البلاد

And for whoever comes seeking pilgrimage to the House of God

And for those who come to perform Hajj pilgrimage

And reward, coming from distant lands;

Rewarded though from distant lands

ولمن أعطى ماله يتزكى

ولمن أعطى ماله يتزكى

ولمن جاء طائعاً للجهاد

ولمن جاء طائعاً للجهاد

And for whoever gives his wealth to purify himself,

And for those who give charity to purify themselves

And for whoever comes willingly for jihad.

And those who come willingly to jihad

إن أجر المجاهدين كثير

إن أجر المجاهدين كثير

ليس يحصى بالحصر والتعداد

ليس يحصى بالحصر والتعداد

Indeed, the reward of those who wage jihad is abundant;

Indeed great is the reward of the mujahideen

It cannot be reckoned by counting and enumeration.

Beyond count or number

فإذا ما حباهم اللَه نصراً

فإذا ما حباهم اللَه نصراً

ملكوا بنت كل علج معادى

ملكوا بنت كل علج معادى

Then, when God grants them victory,

So when God grants them victory

They possess the daughter of every hostile non-Arab infidel.

They take the daughters of every enemy

فسبوها وضاجعوها بلا عقد

فسبوها وضاجعوها بلا عقد

عليها منهم ولا إشهاد

عليها منهم ولا إشهاد

So they take her captive and lie with her, with no marriage contract

And ravish them without contract or witness

Made with her by them, and no witnesses called.

Among them, neither bound nor wed

شهد اللَه أن ذلك حق

شهد اللَه أن ذلك حق

منه قد جاء في كتاب هادي

منه قد جاء في كتاب هادي

God has testified that this is right;

God bears witness it is the truth

From Him it has come, in a guiding book.
