On his shoulders he carried a coffin
جاءنيcame to me كاشراًbaring his teeth وفيand in عينهhis eye ناfire (first fragment of نار)
جاءني كاشراً وفي عينه نا
رfire (final fragment of نار) تلظىblazed كأنهas though he were عفريتan ifrit; a demon
ر تلظى كأنه عفريت
He came to me baring his teeth, and in his eye a fire
He came to me grinning, in his eyes a glare
Blazed, as though he were an ifrit.
Burning like a demon's sight
