وجد الشيخ راحة في القبور

لم يجد يوماً مثلها في القصور
The sheikh found rest in the graves,
The Sheikh found peace in the graves
the like of which he had never found in palaces.
He never found the like of it in palaces
ذهبواthey went بالهمامwith the noble man تواًat once الىto القبرthe grave
ذهبوا بالهمام تواً الى القبر
الىto منزلdwelling الهمامthe noble man الاخيرthe final
الى منزل الهمام الاخير
They took the noble man at once to the grave,
They went with worries quickly to the grave
to the noble man's final dwelling.
To the abode of worries, the last one
لاnot يخافfears الذيthe one who يموتdies حكماas a sage
لا يخاف الذي يموت حكما
منof سؤالquestioning لمنكرby Munkar ونكيرand Nakir
من سؤال لمنكر ونكير
He who dies a sage has no fear
He who dies wisely does not fear

في هواه في قلبه في الضمير
rest in his thoughts, in his breast,
Peace in his thoughts, in his mind
in his desire, in his heart, in his conscience.
In his passions, in his heart, in his conscience
وهوand it خيرbetter لهfor him وانand even if غضبgrew angry الthe (split definite article)
وهو خير له وان غضب ال
بعضsome منof الناسthe people منthan لقاءmeeting الحورthe houris (heavenly maidens)
بعض من الناس من لقاء الحور
And it is better for him—even if it angers
And it is better for him even if some
some people—than meeting the houris.
People are angry that he meets the Houri
