  1. قد يضر الصدق ان حا

    ربت في يوم التقاضي

    Truth may do harm if you con-

    tend on the day of litigation;

  2. ويكون الكذب أجدى

    ان سيف الكذب ماض

    And lying may prove more useful;

    Indeed, the sword of falsehood is sharp.
