تَماشَينَthey walked together ذاthe place of (Dhu) الأَرطىthe arta shrubs فَلَماand when قَطَعنَهُthey crossed it
تَماشَينَ ذا الأَرطى فَلَما قَطَعنَهُ
لخرقٍtoward a wilderness أَمَقّfar-stretching الشاطِئَينِthe two borders بَطينِbroad-bellied
لخرقٍ أَمَقّ الشاطِئَينِ بَطينِ
They walked together through Dhu al-Arta, and when they had crossed it
He walked along the path until he broke it,
toward a wilderness, its two borders far-flung, its belly broad.
