في الذُروَةِ العَلياءِ وَالرُكنِ الأَشَد
I am Jamil, upon the hump of Ma'add,
I am beautiful in lineage, from Ma'ad
At the lofty summit and the strongest pillar,
In the highest summit and the firmest support
وَالبَيتِand the house مِنof سَعدِSa'd بنِson of زَيدٍZayd وَالعَدَدand the multitude

ما يَبتَغي الأَعداءُ مِنّي وَلَقَد
And in the house of Sa'd ibn Zayd, with its multitude.
And the house of Sa'd bin Zayd in number
What do the enemies seek from me? Indeed,
What my enemies want from me, but indeed
أُضرِيَhas been trained بِالشَمِّagainst the proud لِسانيmy tongue وَمَرَدand grew defiant

أَقودُ مَن شِئتُ وَصَعبٌ لَم أُقَد
My tongue has been trained against the proud and has grown defiant.
My tongue is sharpened by the sun and polished sword
I lead whomever I wish; untamable, I have not been led.
I lead whom I wish, the difficult I have led
