وَقالوا يا جَميلُ أَتى أَخوها

وَقالوا يا جَميلُ أَتى أَخوها

فَقُلتُ أَتى الحَبيبُ أَخو الحَبيبِ

فَقُلتُ أَتى الحَبيبُ أَخو الحَبيبِ

And they said, “O Jamil, her brother has come.”

And they said, oh beautiful one, her brother has come

So I said, “The beloved has come—the beloved’s brother.”

So I said, the beloved has come, the brother of the beloved

أُحِبُّكَ أَن نَزَلتَ جِبالَ حِسمى

أُحِبُّكَ أَن نَزَلتَ جِبالَ حِسمى

وَأَن ناسَبتَ بَثنَةَ مِن قَريبِ

وَأَن ناسَبتَ بَثنَةَ مِن قَريبِ

I love you because you dwelt in the mountains of Hisma,

I love you, for you descended the mountains of Hisma

and because you are close kin to Bathna.

And matched the valley of Buthna from near
