أَنتَ اِمرؤٌ شُكري لَهُ واجِبٌ

أَنتَ اِمرؤٌ شُكري لَهُ واجِبٌ

وَلَم أَكُن قَصَّرتُ في واجِبِه

وَلَم أَكُن قَصَّرتُ في واجِبِه

You are a man to whom my thanks are due,

You are a man I must thank

and I have not been remiss in my duty to him.

And I haven't been remiss in my duty to you

وَكَيفَ لا أَشكُرُ مَن لا أَرى

وَكَيفَ لا أَشكُرُ مَن لا أَرى

في مَنزِلٍ إِلّا الَّذي جادَ بِهِ

في مَنزِلٍ إِلّا الَّذي جادَ بِهِ

And how could I not thank one when I see nothing

And how could I not thank someone when I see

in a home except what he has generously given?

No one in any home who has given as much as you
