تَزينُadorns الفَتىthe young man إِنif كانَhe is يَعشَقُhe loves زَينَهُhis adornment
To you, Abu Ishaq, a message from me,
To you Abu Ishaq I send a message
that adorns a young man, if he loves his own adornment.
The young man embellishes if he were to love his beauty
لَقَدindeed كُنتُI was غَضباناًangry عَلىwith الدَهرِTime زارِياًrailing

I had indeed been angry with Time, railing
I was once angry at time, blaming it
against it; but you have reconciled me with it.
But you made peace between it and me
