فَقُلتُ لَها بَخِلتِ عَليَّ يَقظى

فَقُلتُ لَها بَخِلتِ عَليَّ يَقظى

فَجودي في المَنامِ لِمُستَهامِ

فَجودي في المَنامِ لِمُستَهامِ

So I said to her, “You were ungenerous to me while awake;

I told her: “You were stingy when I was awake,

so be generous in dreams to a lovesick man.”

So my generosity in dreams is for one deserving of it.”

فَقالَت لي وَصِرتَ تنامُ أَيضاً

فَقالَت لي وَصِرتَ تنامُ أَيضاً

وَتَطمَعُ أَن أَزورَكَ في المَنامِ

وَتَطمَعُ أَن أَزورَكَ في المَنامِ

Then she said to me, “And now you sleep as well,

She said to me: “Now you also sleep,

and hope that I will visit you in dreams?”

And hope that I will visit you in dreams.”
