أَلا لَيتَ عَيشاً أَوَّلاً كَرَّ راجِعاً
وَإِلّاand if not فَعَيشٌthen a life آخَرٌanother مثلُlike أَوَّلِthe first
وَإِلّا فَعَيشٌ آخَرٌ مثلُ أَوَّلِ
Oh, if only the life of old would return!
Alas! Would that life might return as it began
And if not, then another life like the first!
