ماليWhat have I to do وَلِلشّابِand with the young man وَأَولادِهِand his children
مالي وَلِلشّابِ وَأَولادِهِ
لاmay not قُدِّسَbe blessed الوالِدُthe father وَالوالِدَهand the mother
لا قُدِّسَ الوالِدُ وَالوالِدَه
What have I to do with the young man and his children?
May neither the father nor the mother be blessed!
قَدindeed حَفِظواthey have memorized القُرآنَthe Qur’an وَاِستَعمِلواand put into practice
قَد حَفِظوا القُرآنَ وَاِستَعمِلوا
ماwhat فيهِis in it إِلّاexcept سورَةَthe chapter of المائِدَهthe Table
ما فيهِ إِلّا سورَةَ المائِدَه
They have memorized the Qur’an and put into practice
what it contains, except the chapter of the Table.
