كَأَنَّas though بَقاءَlingering الوَيلِthe woe فيwithin جَنَباتِهاits sides
كَأَنَّ بَقاءَ الوَيلِ في جَنَباتِها
بَقِيَّةُa remnant دَمعٍtears فَوقَupon خَدٍّa cheek مُوَرَّدِrosy
بَقِيَّةُ دَمعٍ فَوقَ خَدٍّ مُوَرَّدِ
As though the woe lingering within its sides
As if the wretched one's life remaining in her sides,
Were a remnant of tears upon a rosy cheek.
Is a remnant of tears upon an ashen cheek.
