1. فوضت أمري للذي

    تخذته معتمدي

    I have entrusted my affairs to the One

    Whom I have taken as my mainstay.

  2. إذا خطوت خطوةً

    يسوقني للسدد

    Whenever I take a step,

    He leads me to the right course.

  3. إن جعتُ فهو رازقي

    بالقل أو بالرغد

    If I hunger, He is my provider,

    With little or with abundance.

  4. وإن ظمئت كال لي

    بالكأس أو بالرفد

    And if I thirst, He measures out drink for me,

    With a cup or a large drinking bowl.

  5. فاللَه خير حافظاً

    في كل أمرٍ نكدِ

    For God is the best guardian

    In every grievous affair.

  6. الغوث يا ربي فلا

    تخلني للكبد

    Help, my Lord, so do not

    Abandon me to hardship.

  7. الغوث من جاري وداري

    والهوى والحسدِ

    Deliver me from my neighbor and my home,

    And desire and envy.

  8. الغوث من جلاب همس

    بيئتي والولد

    Deliver me from the bearers of whispers

    Of my surroundings and the child.

  9. الغوث من فقري لمخلوقٍ

    ومالٍ لبد

    Deliver me from my need for a created being,

    And wealth piled high.

  10. الغوث من دنيا بغت

    الغوث من هول الغد

    Deliver me from a world that has transgressed.

    Deliver me from the terror of tomorrow.

  11. الغوث يا ربي فما

    غيرك لي من سد

    Help, my Lord, for there is no

    Bulwark for me but You.

  12. يا ربي أدعوكَ ومدى ما

    عشت أخذا بيدي

    O my Lord, I call upon You, and for as long as

    I live, take me by the hand.

  13. لا بدَّ مما ليس بدُّ منه

    فالطف وقدِ

    There is no escaping what cannot be escaped,

    So be gentle, and guide me.

  14. بقل أعوذ عذتُ ومن

    طغاة هذا البلد

    And through 'Say: I seek refuge,' I sought refuge from

    The tyrants of this land.

  15. بقل هو اللَه أحد

    دخلتُ حصنَ الأحد

    Through 'Say: He is God, One,'

    I entered the fortress of the One.

  16. وفت تدبيري لهُ

    سبحانه من صمدِ

    My planning for Him was fulfilled [wording unclear].

    Glory be to Him, the Self-Sufficient One.
